Brief Introduction to Healthy Cooking

The health problems faced by many for the past few decades can be traced to the rising of some fast-food chains all over the world. These restaurant chains like McDonalds put up attractive, tasty food items which are mostly unhealthy.
Right amount of carbohydrate is needed to give your body energy. When you eat more of carbohydrate food, lots of glucose is released into your blood stream and your pancreas has to release more insulin to store the excess glucose in the cells. When your body is incapable of producing enough insulin, you become diabetic; there will be more sugar in your blood. Diabetes can result in kidney and nerve damages.
You need to reduce your “bad cholesterol” with fiber rich foods, fish containing omega like salmon, mono saturated oils like virgin olive oil.
What are Healthy foods?
The food items having low fat and carbohydrate levels can be described as healthy. They need to be rich in fibers, Vitamins, anti-oxidants and proteins.
Whole grains are Brown Rice, Whole rye, oats, millets etc that are available in the supermarket. They are rich in fibers especially the brown grains like brown rice. Fibers prevent constipation and help reduce “bad cholesterol”.
Your kids need a balanced diet for their proper growth. They must receive adequate amount of Calcium that helps to make their bones and teeth stronger, Vitamins to improve their immunity, and proteins to grow taller.

Apart from proper diet, physical exercise is necessary for a healthy body and mind.
